ORGANIZATION SUMMARY:
In partnership with both the provincial and federal governments, the BC First Nations Justice Council has been entrusted with the mandate to transform the justice system to create better outcomes for Indigenous people through the implementation of the BC First Nations Justice Strategy.
We are a rapidly growing and dedicated team that is located across the province, some working in offices and some working remotely. We take our mandate seriously but also strive for a balanced, caring work environment that is respectful and supportive.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Assistant Director will report to the Provincial Director of Indigenous Justice Centres. This position is responsible for managing the daily operations, planning and implementing our Justice Strategy. The position will also provide support to the Indigenous Justice Centres (IJCs) to ensure that our planning, projects, and administrative activities align with and support the organizations strategy, culture and values.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
As the Assistant Director, you are well versed in performance and operations management and competent in assuming delegated duties. You are a strong leader who is experienced in managing a team. You are a critical thinker, ready to solve problems before they become obstacles. As an expert communicator, you can communicate clearly and compassionately.
Job Type: Full-time, permanent
Full-Time Hours: 35 hours / week, Monday to Friday
