Wednesday, September 7, 2022 – Senator Ratna Omidvar (second from the left) chaired a panel discussion hosted by the Renewing our Democratic Alliance on refugee policy at the Embassy of Canada in Berlin, Germany. She was joined by (from left) Toronto Metropolitan University Professor Craig Damian Smith, Canadian International Council President Ben Rowswell, Chargée d’affaires of Canada to Germany Isabelle Poupart, and Canadian International Council Distinguished Fellow Jeremy Kinsman.

Tuesday, September 13, 2022 – Senator Brian Francis visits Pituamkek (Hog Island Sandhills) located near Lennox Island First Nation in Prince Edward Island (known as Epekwitk in Mi’kmaw). He joined L’nuey and other Epekwitnewaq Mi’kmaq to discuss the significance of the site, where work is underway to establish a national park reserve, and areas that may require special attention or protection.
