BC Hydro held a United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UN Declaration) Annual Implementation Meeting with the support of the First Nations Energy and Mining Council (FNEMC) and the BC Hydro and
FNEMC’s UN Declaration Advisory Committee on May 14, 2025 with a virtual option for those who could not attend
in-person.

The UN Declaration Implementation Plan has been identified as a living document that will continue to evolve and serve as an important instrument to inform reporting out to First Nation communities and the public on progress along the reconciliation journey, ensuring transparency and accountability. Engagement at this important session, and others to follow, are vital in shaping the plan moving forward.
