Britco Designated Progressive Aboriginal Relations Committed

LANGLEY, BC (November 13, 2014) Langley-based Britco has been designated Progressive Aboriginal Relations (PAR) Committed by the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business (CCAB).

PAR designation is supported by an independent, third party verification of company reports which results in a high level of assurance to companies and communities.

“Our partnerships with Aboriginal communities are defined by balance, fairness, mutual prosperity and respect,” said Kareem Allam, Britco’s Director of Corporate Social Responsibility and Aboriginal Relations. “We recognize the uniqueness and diversity of each First Nation and Aboriginal community and look forward to developing meaningful, creative approaches to opportunities with those communities.”

Britco’s commitment to engagement with Aboriginal Peoples in communities on traditional territories and title lands also includes supporting education and scholarship opportunities for Aboriginal youth. As part of Britco’s literacy initiative, they are providing ten library buildings to remote First Nations communities in BC.
