After convening a virtual huddle with his front bench team yesterday, Prime Minister Mark Carney is set to spend the day in the Greater Toronto Area, where, according to his itinerary, he’ll unveil “new measures to combat crime and protect our communities,” during a mid-morning appearance alongside Toronto-area Liberal MPs John Zerucelli and Ruby Sahota. who also serve as secretaries of state for labour and combatting crime, respectively. Later this afternoon, he’ll “visit a local business” (3:20 p.m.) ahead of a tête-à-tête with Ontario Premier Doug Ford that is expected to focus on the ongoing cross-border tariff war, as CTV News notes. (4:30 p.m.)
