First Air selects Nunavut based Atiigo Media as media agency

November 20, 2014 — Iqaluit, Nunavut and Ottawa, Ontario — First Air, The Airline of the North, and the largest scheduled airline in northern Canada, has selected Atiigo Media to manage their public relations and social media outreach. In this role, Atiigo Media will provide ongoing media support, policy development, and social media staff training to First Air.

The decision to hire Atiigo Media is in line with First Air’s ongoing support of community and economic development in the North. With scheduled services to 33 northern communities and hubs in Iqaluit, Rankin Inlet and Yellowknife, First Air has invested heavily in the North. As the largest northern airline, this involvement includes sponsorships for northern NGOs, artists, musicians, charities, support for local businesses, and significant fare reductions for beneficiaries.

Headquartered in Iqaluit, Atiigo Media is an Inuit-owned design and communications firm that has been operating in Nunavut for over 11 years. As a full-service firm that specializes in Northern communications and media, Atiigo employs local graphic designers, filmmakers, social media experts, and web developers. Combining expertise in traditional culture and cutting edge technologies, Atiigo Media has created some of Nunavut’s most recognizable and innovative campaigns and social marketing initiatives.
