WHITEHORSE—GeoYukon, a new online tool, was launched today by the e-services unit of the Department of Highways and Public Works. With an easy-to-use navigation system, GeoYukon provides access to the most current high-resolution satellite imagery and geospatial data in the Yukon government’s repository.
“I am pleased to introduce this new online tool. It provides the public with simple and convenient access to the Yukon government’s imagery and mapping information,” Minister of Highways and Public Works Wade Istchenko said. “GeoYukon will be useful for a wide range of activities, from planning a major construction project to preparing for a weekend fishing trip.”
The GeoYukon application makes the same central repository of geospatial data used by the government available to businesses and individuals. Use of the application is free of charge.
Users will be able to customize how they view, search, extract and download any available Yukon geospatial data.
