The new edition of The Observer is ready for reading
Things sure get busy as soon as school starts. This week was a wave of news, entertainment, sports and community activities. Especially community activities. There is so much going on in Quesnel as September rolls along. This edition features a couple of major articles that reaffirm our faith in our fellow friends and neighbours: one of our Quesnel cowboys just turned 102. 102!!! And a grocery store employee found a wad of cash in the parking lot, figured out who it belonged to, held onto it for months to ensure it got back to the rightful owner, and finally it did. Hats off to Myles.
The place where so many of our First Nations brothers, sisters and friends got interned during their childhood years, St. Joseph’s Residential School, has been purchased by a local First Nation for the purpose of healing and preserving history. A new chapter begins for that place and the events it represents.
The interconnector highway project is a big ticket item for Quesnel, and it just got the backing of a neighbouring town.
