Indigenous Community Sport Consultant
The mission of the Manitoba Aboriginal Sports & Recreation Council (MASRC) is to improve the health outcomes of Indigenous people throughout Manitoba by supporting and encouraging physically active communities. The programs delivered by the MASRC are designed to build capacity and increase access to sport, recreation and physical activity in First Nation, Metis and Inuit Communities, schools, and other delivery agencies across the province.
General Description
The MASRC is seeking a candidate to fill the following full-time staff vacancy: Indigenous Community Sport Consultant (ICSC). Reporting to the Executive Director and working closely with the other staff, the primary role of the ICSC is to engage communities, partners, groups in the design and delivery of community-based, culturally relevant sport, recreation and physical activity programs for Indigenous people throughout the province. The ideal candidate will possess an extensive background in the areas of sport, recreation and physical activity and have established networks/connections among Indigenous communities and organizations throughout the province.
Competencies and Requirements
Term: Full-time permanent employment
Salary range: $3739,000 to start (depending on experience)
Location: the position is based in the MASRC office in Winnipeg
