THUNDER BAY, ONT. — This week, six entrepreneurs completed the Miinikaanan Badakidoon program, a new Indigenous funding stream of the Starter Company Plus program.
Conducted through the Thunder Bay Community Economic Development Commission (CEDC), each of the six participants upon completion of the program received $5,000 in funding.
The money supports their Indigenous-led businesses across the Northwest region.
Melanie Blanchett, founder of Evolv Consulting Services, was one of the six participants in the program and is thrilled to be able to expand her business that she had already established. She says it’s not just about funding, it’s about the learning opportunities through the program.
