Media Advisory: News conference and ribbon cutting to celebrate Inuvik High Point Wind Project milestone

Media are invited to attend a news conference celebrating an important milestone for the Inuvik High Point Wind Project. The news conference will be followed by travel to the Inuvik High Point Wind site for a ribbon cutting.

When: July 31, 10:30 a.m. Mountain Standard Time

Where: Mike Zubko Airport, Airport Road, Inuvik, NT

Minister of Infrastructure Diane Archie, Gwich’in Tribal Council Grand Chief Ken Kyikavichik and Inuvik Mayor Clarence Wood will be joined by Cory Strang, President and CEO of the Northwest Territories Power Corporation, for the news conference and ribbon cutting.

Media will be provided transportation to the project site for the ribbon cutting and should plan for 90 minutes for the announcement and ribbon cutting. All those attending the ribbon cutting will be required to wear hard hat on site for safety reasons.

Media are asked to please RSVP by 5 p.m. on July 28 to confirm your attendance.
