The Honourable Pablo Rodriguez, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Multiculturalism, today announced the appointment of Éric Fournier as vice-chair of the board of trustees of the National Arts Centre (NAC) for a three-year term.
Mr. Fournier is a senior executive in the service, media and telecommunications industries. He has expertise in governance and business and reputation risk management. He was Executive Director of the Quebec community channel VOX until 2012, and since then he has been president and CEO of TELEFERIC Gestion and OmniCanal Conseil in Montréal. Mr. Fournier is a speaker, lecturer in accounting, and Chair of the Board of Directors of the Orchestre national de jazz de Montréal. He holds an MBA from HEC Montréal.
This appointment is made under the Government of Canada’s new approach to Governor in Council appointments. This approach supports open, transparent and merit-based selection processes that strive for gender parity and reflect Canada’s diversity, to support ministers in making appointment recommendations for positions within their portfolio by providing them with information and referrals.
