Press Release
November 19, 2025
New Association for Mineral Exploration (AME) guidance about engaging with Indigenous Nations is now available for members at all stages of the mineral exploration process – with a special expert-led webinar taking place on November 24, 2025.
Sponsored by Dorado, the AME Indigenous Engagement Toolkit (Toolkit) provides AME members with suggested practices for Indigenous engagement, including approaches that build constructive relations with Indigenous communities. It has been developed with expert legal and engagement input to provide practical guidance, with a particular focus on early-stage exploration.
The new Toolkit replaces AME’s previous Indigenous Engagement Guidebook. The online AME Indigenous Awareness Training Program remains available for members. This is a six-hour self-paced online course.
Accessing the Toolkit
The Toolkit is available exclusively to AME members at no cost. It can be accessed using member login details on our website.
Limited printed copies of the Toolkit will also be available at AME Roundup 2026 from January 26-29, 2026.
Over the coming months, supporting information will be added to the Toolkit, and AME expects to announce in-person workshops for members for spring 2026.
