New CBC/Radio-Canada strategy will strengthen local services, increase discoverability of content, and bring Canadians together

Press Release

Oct 28, 2025

CBC/Radio-Canada officially launches its 2025–2030 corporate strategy, CBC, Here for Canada, today. The new strategy aligns with our vision to transform Canada’s public broadcaster into an essential public service for all Canadians.

“We have an important role to play in supporting the Canadian media and cultural ecosystem. The vision and objectives of our new strategy aim to guide our future and create public value for citizens, for the economy, and for the cultural sector. This strategy will drive our decisions over the next five years.”

– Marie-Philippe Bouchard, President and CEO, CBC/Radio-Canada

While continuing to serve all Canadians, we will focus on three segments of the population who are underserved, who undervalue our services, or who do not use our services at all:

  • Newcomers: We want each newcomer to feel at home, informed, and entertained by content that reflects their realities and aspirations.
  • Children and youth: We want to capture their attention, inspire them, and support them with Canadian content they can easily find, to build a lasting relationship with them from an early age.
  • Non-users or dissatisfied users: We want to establish an inclusive dialogue, reflect their realities, and offer content that informs and entertains them.

The five-year strategy is based on three pillars:

  • Proximity: We want to strengthen our local and regional presence, drawing closer to Canadians, including those in official language minority communities, and to Indigenous Peoples.
  • Digital Agility: We want to ensure our services are more discoverable and relevant, offering content to audiences on their platforms of choice.
  • Bringer People Together: We want to foster connections across communities, perspectives and generations by creating strategic partnerships and providing diverse programming.

Watch the official launch of our new strategy today at the 2025 Annual Public Meeting, starting at noon ET on CBC/Radio-Canada’s corporate website and on our YouTube channel.
