PM announces changes in the senior ranks of the Public service
Prime Minister Stephen Harper today announced the following changes in the senior ranks of the Public Service:
Serge Dupont, currently Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, becomes the Government’s nominee for the position of Executive Director for the Canadian, Irish and Caribbean Constituency at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington, D.C.
Bob Hamilton, currently Deputy Minister of the Environment, becomes Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, effective July 2, 2014.
Michael Martin, currently Senior Associate Deputy Minister of National Defence, becomes Deputy Minister of the Environment, effective July 2, 2014.
Louise Levonian, currently Associate Deputy Minister of Finance, becomes Senior Associate Deputy Minister of Employment and Social Development and Chief Operating Officer for Service Canada, effective July 28, 2014.
Carolina Giliberti, currently Senior Assistant Deputy Minister, Service Management, Service Canada, Employment and Social Development Canada, becomes Executive Vice-President of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, effective August 5, 2014.
Patrick Borbey, currently President of the Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency, becomes Associate Deputy Minister of Canadian Heritage, effective July 2, 2014.
Janet King, currently Assistant Deputy Minister, Northern Affairs, Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada, becomes President of the Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency, effective July 2, 2014.
The Prime Minister took the opportunity to thank Tom Hockin on the occasion of his departure from the IMF in Washington, D.C. The Prime Minister praised Mr. Hockin for his contributions during his tenure as Executive Director.
The Prime Minister also took the opportunity to congratulate Karen Jackson, Senior Associate Deputy Minister of Employment and Social Development and Chief Operating Officer for Service Canada, on the occasion of her retirement from the Public Service, following a distinguished 30-year career marked by dedication and excellence in serving Canadians.
The Prime Minister also thanked Mary Komarynsky who retired from her position as Executive Vice-President of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency on March 31, 2014. The Prime Minister recognized her many accomplishments over the course of her 30-year career with the Public Service.
