PM’s visit follows memorandum of understanding between Ottawa and Alberta supporting new pipeline to the Pacific
Prime Minister Mark Carney is travelling to Prince Rupert on Monday, to make good on a face-to-face meeting requested by B.C.’s Coastal First Nations, BIV has learned.
Indigenous leaders and Carney are set to sit down for official talks Tuesday, with an agenda focused on major projects in the region, partnership opportunities with the federal government and ocean protection for the marine environment.
Looming large will be the proposal for an oil pipeline from Alberta to B.C.’s coast.
