Seven hopefuls on ballot for Mushkegowuk Grand Chief – CBC

Seven people are running in a by-election for Grand Chief of the Mushkegowuk Council, the political organization that represents Cree communities in northeastern Ontario.

The position is open following the death of long-time Grand Chief Stan Louttit from cancer this year.

The by-election for Grand Chief will be held on Friday, Nov. 14.

The official nomination period for candidates closed last week. The Mushkegowuk Council says the following candidates are in the race:

  • Theresa Hall
  • Lawrence Martin
  • Annie Metat
  • Edward J. Nakogee
  • Peter M. Nakogee
  • Roderick William Sutherland
