The Minister of Aboriginal Affairs says the province is confident it didn’t violate a land claims agreement with the Nunatsiavut Government when a new deal was reached with Vale to accommodate delays at Long Harbour.
Keith Russell says it was a conversation between old friends when he told a Nunatsiavut Minister to ‘go ahead and sue us’.
Russell made headlines in the past, then as an MHA in 2012, for referring to spiritual claims to land around Muskrat Falls as ‘mumbo jumbo’ then during debate in the Legislature Russell called then MHA Yvonne Jones ‘nothing more than a washed up actress.
