Labour Force Survey, November 2025
Employment increased by 54,000 (+0.3%) in November, driven by gains in part-time work. The employment rate rose 0.1 percentage points to 60.9%, while the unemployment rate fell 0.4 percentage points to 6.5%.

In 2023, 70% of racialized Canadians gave their time, expertise and skills to a range of benevolent causes in the previous 12 months.
Securities statistics, third quarter 2025
Canadian governments and corporations borrowed a net $81.9 billion in the form of debt securities in the third quarter, the highest level of activity since the third quarter of 2024. The financing activity in the third quarter of 2025 was led by the government sector, followed by financial corporations.

Canadian potato production, 2025
After four consecutive record harvests, Canadian potato production in 2025 declined 0.9% from 2024 to 125.8 million hundredweight. Prince Edward Island (-15.9% to 21.8 million hundredweight) and New Brunswick (-4.7% to 16.2 million hundredweight) reported the largest decreases in production as drought conditions throughout the growing season affected average yields in Eastern Canada. Alberta produced 27.1% of Canadian potatoes in 2025, maintaining its position as the largest potato producer in Canada, followed by Manitoba (21.4%) and Prince Edward Island (17.3%).
Sawmills, September 2025
Lumber production increased 2.3% from August to 3 844.9 thousand cubic metres in September. Production was down 2.7% from September 2024.
Retail Commodity Survey, September 2025
Retail sales reached $69.5 billion in September, an increase of 5.1% compared with the same month one year earlier. Higher sales were reported in all 18 commodity classes.
