Monthly trade in goods by exporter characteristics, June 2020
The number of enterprises exporting goods abroad increased for a second consecutive month in June, after hitting low levels in April. Following an increase of 7.2% from April to May, the number of exporters was up by a further 6.1% from May to June to reach 18,568.
Study: Earnings of degree graduates by detailed fields of study prior to COVID-19
The COVID-19 lockdown has resulted in record youth unemployment rates, which could adversely affect postsecondary graduates for years to come. Although it is too early to know which graduates will be worst hit, students entering college or university and having to select a program might benefit from knowing how well graduates from specific academic disciplines fared in the labour market prior to the pandemic.
Quarterly civil aviation statistics, first quarter 2020
Operating revenue for the 26 largest Canadian air carriers totalled $5.8 billion in the first quarter, down 12.8% from the first quarter of 2019. This was the first year-over-year quarterly decline in three years and resulted in the first net operating loss (-$390.1 million) in eight years.
Dairy statistics, June 2020
The total amount of milk sold off farms increased 1.0% year over year to 767 062 kilolitres in June. Meanwhile, milk sold off farms for fluid purposes increased 6.6% to 224 933 kilolitres. Milk sold off farms for industrial purposes decreased 1.1% year over year to 542 129 kilolitres.
Monthly Survey of Manufacturing: Flash estimate, July 2020
Given the rapidly evolving economic situation, Statistics Canada is providing an advance estimate of sales in the manufacturing sector for the month of July. The advance results for July indicate that manufacturing sales rose 8.7%.
