Overall, investment in building construction decreased 0.9% (-$192.2 million) to $22.2 billion in March.
Monthly estimates of business openings and closures, February 2025
In February, the business closure rate edged down 0.1 percentage points to 4.8%. The business opening rate held steady at 4.8% for the second consecutive month. The closure rate was 0.2 percentage points above its 2015-to-2019 historical average, while the opening rate settled 0.1 percentage points above its historical average.
Oilseed crushing and major grain deliveries statistics, April 2025
Oilseed processors crushed 919 300 tonnes of canola in April. Oil production totalled 390 300 tonnes, while meal production totalled 543 000 tonnes.
Monthly Survey of Manufacturing: Advance indicator, April 2025
Statistics Canada is providing an advance estimate of sales in the manufacturing sector for April. Advance results indicate that total manufacturing sales declined 2.0% in April. The largest decreases were in the petroleum and coal product subsector and motor vehicle industry group.
