Employment Insurance, April 2023
In April, 384,000 Canadians received regular Employment Insurance benefits, little changed from 386,000 in March.
Natural resource indicators, first quarter 2023
Real gross domestic product (GDP) of the natural resources sector decreased 0.2% in the first quarter after dropping 1.8% in the fourth quarter of 2022. In comparison, the economy-wide real GDP rose 0.8% in the first quarter of 2023 after remaining steady (+0.0%) in the previous quarter.
Balance sheet of the agricultural sector, December 31, 2022
The value of equity in Canada’s farm sector totalled $706.9 billion as of December 31, 2022, up by $83.0 billion (+13.3%) from the same date a year earlier. This was the largest percentage increase in farm equity since the beginning of this series in 1981. Every province reported increases in farm equity, ranging from 17.6% in Ontario to 2.0% in Newfoundland and Labrador. Gains in equity in Ontario accounted for more than one-third of the national increase.
Survey on Accessible Print Materials, 2023
Data from the Survey on Accessible Print Materials (SAPM) are now available for 2023. The SAPM gathered information from Canadians who require printed works in alternate formats. The survey aimed to understand their requirements for and use of these formats, and the barriers they encounter in obtaining them.
