Police-reported crime in rural areas in the Canadian provinces, 2023
In 2023, the police-reported crime rate and the Crime Severity Index were approximately one-third higher in rural areas than in urban areas. This continues a pattern that has been observed for more than a decade.
Energy statistics, February 2025
On a year-over-year basis, primary energy production edged 0.1% higher in February, with three of six sectors posting increases. Secondary energy production (+2.9%) also rose in February.

In February, major Canadian airlines flew 6.5 million passengers on scheduled and charter services, down 3.1% from February 2024.

In March, 4.6 million passengers were recorded passing through pre-board security screening at checkpoints operated at Canada’s eight largest airports, a modest increase (+1.5%) over March 2024, but 1.7% below the pre-COVID-19 pandemic level from March 2019.
