Consumer Price Index, May 2025
The Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 1.7% year over year in May, matching the 1.7% increase in April. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, the CPI rose 0.2% in May.
Canada’s Core Public Infrastructure Survey: Required renewal budgets, 2022
At the end of 2022, owners of core public infrastructure estimated that $294.4 billion was required for the rehabilitation or replacement of existing core public infrastructure in Canada to upgrade or maintain the assets in good condition.
Pension plans in Canada, 2024
The number of Canadians who were active members of a registered pension plan (RPP) grew by 293,500 (+4.2%) from 2022 to over 7.2 million in 2023. This compared with a growth of 690,844 (+3.8%) in employment, according to the Labour Force Survey (LFS), over the same period.
Housing Economic Account, 2024
Nominal investment in residential dwellings increased 2.5% in 2024, resulting in a 1.6% increase in the total stock of dwelling units. The productive activity related to investment in residential housing was associated with over 1.2 million jobs and $143.4 billion ($3,474 per capita) in gross domestic product in 2024.
Municipal wastewater systems in Canada, 2023
Data related to the volumes of wastewater (sewage) processed by municipal wastewater systems in Canada for the year 2023 are now available. Data for the year 2022 have been revised.
Mother-centric data linkages, 2023
The third update of the mother-centric data linkages have now been released to the Federal Research Data Centre and Research Data Centres. The mother-centric data linkages allow data users to explore the maternal socio-economic context associated with various mother and child outcomes. Birth information has also been linked to enable data users to explore child hospitalizations and mortality.
Monthly Survey of Manufacturing: Advance indicator, May 2025
Statistics Canada is providing an advance estimate of sales in the manufacturing sector for May. Advance results indicate that total manufacturing sales declined 1.3% in May. The largest decreases were in the petroleum and coal product subsector, the transportation equipment subsector and the food product subsector.
