TransCanada Corp. submits massive 30,000-page application for Energy East pipeline – Financial Post

After speaking to 7,000 individuals, 5,500 landowners and 158 First Nation and Metis communities across six provinces, TransCanada said it has submitted its 30,000-plus-page application for the Energy East pipeline.

“We listened to communities, business, governments, landowners and other stakeholders across this country and they shared the comments, questions and concerns about the pipeline,” said TransCanada CEO Russ Girling, noting that the document was one of the most extensive regulatory application assembled by the company.

The project has secured 900,000 barrels per day of firm, 20-year shipping contracts from domestic producers, Canadian refiners and international markets, Mr. Girling said.
