Waubetek seeks award nominees – NorthernLife.ca

Waubetek Business Development Corp. is seeking nominees for its annual awards of recognition.

The Aboriginal business support organization is calling for nominations in four categories: new entrepreneur of the year, youth entrepreneur of the year, business achievement award, and business merit award.

Winners will be announced at the organization’s annual gala to be held Nov. 5 at Casino Rama.

To be eligible, nominees must be an Aboriginal business located and operating in Waubetek’s service area of Northeast Ontario. Nominees can be a sole proprietor, Aboriginal majority-owned business corporation, or a partnership (minimum 51 per cent). The youth entrepreneur must be an Aboriginal between the age of 18 and 35 years of age. Nominations must be accompanied by a one-page letter indicating why the entrepreneur or business should be selected for the award.
