2014 Sunshine List: Top health salaries reflect ‘expertise’ – Brantford Expositor

As a group, doctors and health-care administrators are some of the highest paid public sector workers in our community.
On the 2014 Sunshine list, doctors who work at the Brant Community Healthcare System, which runs Brantford General Hospital and The Willett in Paris, the Brant County Health Unit and the Local Health Integrated Network each earned more than $300,000 annually.
More than two dozen nurses are also on last year’s list.
The biggest earners at BGH were Dr. Tom Szakacs, the infectious disease consultant, and Dr. Katherine Chorneyko, the medical director of laboratory, who each earned $353,055, including $1,274 in taxable benefits.
