In addition to strengthening the Chamber network in Manitoba through a number of new initiatives, the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce (MCC) intends to insure the voice of business is heard loud and clear during the upcoming federal and provincial elections.
Earlier today, MCC swore in Merv Gunter as incoming Chair of the Board of Directors and also welcomed their new Board as the 84th Annual General Meeting got underway in Brandon, Manitoba.
A long-time advocate for tourism and Northern Economic Development, Mr. Gunter is co-owner of the family owned Frontiers North Adventures, a Manitoba business that specializes in wildlife viewing and other adventure products in Canada’s north. He also Chair’s two policy driven committees through MCC and, along with his wife Lynda, received the Canadian Tourism Lifetime Achievement Award at the Canadian Tourism Awards Gala in 2014.
“Being named Chair of the MCC Board of Directors continues my commitment to growing Manitoba”, said Merv Gunter. “The Chamber movement is an important voice in advocating for change and growth. I am proud to add my voice to the voice of business in Manitoba and see our province become what it should be.”
