The organization is sponsoring festivals and showcasing Indigenous musicians across the country

Ten years after the release of Gord Downie’s solo album, Secret Path, and the accompanying film and graphic novel, the Downie Wenjack Fund (DWF) is celebrating the milestone by supporting Indigenous music festivals and artists across Canada.

Secret Path tells the story of Chanie Wenjack, an Anishinaabe boy who died while fleeing from a residential school in 1966.
