EABAMETOONG – BUSINESS – Eabametoong First Nation and Whitesand First Nation have agreed to work together on tourism-related economic opportunities within their traditional homelands with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
The communities share common goals of developing sustainable tourism ventures that respect and honour their culture, traditions and relationship with the land.
“Whitesand First Nation encourages sustainable initiatives and economic development that will improve our well-being and social standing. We see the development of tourism with our friends and partners at Eabametoong First Nation as a great opportunity. Together we can develop tourism initiatives that protects and promotes our way of life by sharing our skills and knowledge of the land to others” states Chief Allan Gustafson.
