Torngat Mountains MHA Randy Edmunds says he needs to know more about how aboriginal royalties will be affected by a government deal affecting Long Harbour and the Voisey’s Bay mine.
Tensions between the province and the Labrador Innu and Inuit have been mounting recently, after the province inked a deal to allow more Voisey’s Bay ore to be shipped out of the province without being processed at Long Harbour.

The province is getting paid $230 million to compensate for the delay, but Edmunds said aboriginal groups are worried that mining royalties aren’t flowing.
