Concern, anger, and calls for accountability are mounting across Sarnia following a series of social media comments by City Councillor Bill Dennis, prompting formal complaints from First Nations leadership and an emergency response from city council.
A special meeting of Sarnia City Council has now been scheduled for Tuesday, March 24 at 10 a.m., after a majority of councillors petitioned for immediate action. The meeting will address Dennis’ recent remarks regarding Indigenous communities and relationships with local First Nations.
