Mission to Nordic nations could bring bio-economy investments to Thunder Bay – TBNewsWatch.com

THUNDER BAY — It was a low-key visit that escaped media coverage but one that may some day pay off in the form of investments in the bioeconomy sector in the Thunder Bay region.

The Community Economic Development Commission partnered last fall with the Centre for Research and Innovation in the Bioeconomy to organize a trade mission to three Nordic nations.

CEDC and CRIBE representatives were joined on the trip by Northwestern Ontario Innovation Centre, Thunder Bay Pulp & Paper, Domtar, Dryden Fibre and Lake Nipigon Forest Management Inc., a cooperative comprised of four First Nations communities.
