Many of us need to learn money basics
With household debt at record highs and interest rates at record lows, Canadians should be motivated to learn how to manage their personal finances, but apparently many of us didn’t get the memo.
“Many Canadians lack the knowledge and skills to make sound financial decisions,” said Jane Rooney, financial literacy leader with the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada. “Those decisions have an impact on their financial well-being, their ability to budget, save, invest, the success of their small business ventures and the strength and the stability of our overall economy,” she told the Regina District Chamber of Commerce Thursday.
