Cavan Monaghan supports new development at the Fraserville track.
The Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation (MSIFN) is “shocked” to learn that Cavan Monaghan Township has supported a proposed large expansion of Shorelines Slots at Kawartha Downs without first consulting it.
It is asking that the development be paused until MSIFN and any other impacted Indigenous governments have been consulted.
“MSIFN was shocked to learn Aof your township’s plan to request an MZO (minister’s zoning order for the development) through media reports, as opposed to formal correspondence,” says a letter listed under “correspondence for action” on the agenda for Monday’s Cavan Monaghan Township council meeting.
