Indigenous inclusion, leadership and values – Wood Business

October 29, 2024

Recognizing and respecting the rights of Indigenous peoples is a business imperative. Our operations overlap with 48 First Nations and four cultural groups in Coastal B.C. Indigenous peoples are our neighbours, business partners, and key members of our team.

Most of our work to build and sustain Indigenous relationships is anchored in four key areas, aligning with the best practices outlined in the Progressive Aboriginal Relations certification program administered by the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business:

  • Leadership actions that reinforce focus on Indigenous relationships, like formal commitments written in policies and guidelines.
  • Supporting Indigenous talent by committing time and resources to achieving the equitable representation in the workforce, including promoting cultural practices in the workplace or cultural competency training for all staff.
