Premier Paul Davis plans to meet with Innu Nation Grand Chief Anastasia Qupee this month to discuss a number of thorny issues that have created tension between the province and the aboriginal group.
Two of the issues likely to be discussed are the contentious new deal the provincial government signed with Vale, and Labrador and Aboriginal Affairs Minister Keith Russell, who recently landed in hot water over comments he made to a Nunatsiavut Government minister. The premier is also expecting Muskrat Falls to be on the agenda whenever the meeting takes place.
“I will be very surprised if (Muskrat Falls) isn’t on the agenda,” Davis said in a recent interview with The Labradorian.
