iPolitics AM: Bergen in as interim Tory leader, Duclos faces privacy committee – iPolitics

After collectively forcing a sudden — but, it must be noted, not entirely surprising — end to Erin O’Toole’s tenure as party leader yesterday morning, Conservative MPs voted last night to install O’Toole’s former deputy leader, Candice Bergen, as interim leader until a permanent replacement can be chosen by the party’s members at large — but it looks like she’s going to have to wait until next week before facing off against the prime minister for the first time in her new role.

According to his itinerary, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is set to embark on a one-day virtual whistle stop tour of the Prairies, starting with a morning appearance alongside Manitoba Premier Heather Stefanson to announce a new child care funding deal. (11 AM)
