Kenora political battleground heating up – The Chronicle Journal

The federal election battle for Kenora is beginning to heat up.

The political heavyweights are weighing in on the major issues in the expansive riding, which is one of the largest in the country.

Incumbent Conservative candidate Greg Rickford said that “since 2008, I have been a strong voice for this region and I am confident that voters will judge me based on my proven record of delivering results for Northwestern Ontario.

“This includes: eliminating the wasteful and ineffective long-gun registry; enhancing the universal child care benefit to allow families the flexibility to raise their children in a manner that suits them; and, unprecedented investments to infrastructure and program spending across the region,” he said, adding that “in contrast, the NDP and Liberals have opposed every single measure that supports or reflects the values, traditions and economic priorities of Northwestern Ontarians.”
