BC TREATY COMMISSION PRESS CONFERENCE IN VICTORIA; LIVE WEBCAST AVAILABLE

The Treaty Commission will release its 2014 annual report, Recommendation 8: First Nation resolve issues related to overlapping traditional territories among themselves, on Tuesday, October 7, at the Hotel Grand Pacific in Victoria.

The recent Supreme Court of Canada decision in Tsilhqot’in makes the resolution of First Nation overlapping and shared territory issues, and the completion of treaties in BC, more important than ever.

Media are invited to hear from Chief Commissioner Sophie Pierre and Commissioners Jerry Lampert, Dave Haggard, Celeste Haldane and Dan Smith on this year’s annual report. This will be Sophie Pierre’s last annual report presentation before completing her term in March 2015.
