Vancouver, British Columbia – The Honourable Joyce Murray, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard together with Cloy-e-iis, Dr. Judith Sayers with the Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council, President Gaagwiis Jason Alsop with the Council of the Haida Nation, Chief Jeff Jones with the Pacheedaht First Nation, James Wallas, Elected Councillor with Quatsino First Nation will jointly announce progress on the proposed Tang.ɢwan — ḥačxwiqak — Tsig̱is Marine Protected Area.

From 3 – 9 February, 2023, ocean conservation professionals, leaders and decision-makers will attend IMPAC5 in Vancouver, Canada, to learn, share and chart a course towards protecting 30 per cent of the global ocean by 2030.
