With First Nations frustration mounting, the only way to repeal it without a full-scale showdown is to replace it with something better.
With the NDP approach to resolving the DRIPA dilemma now in ruins, thoughts turn to what the Opposition would do if they eventually get left holding the bag.
The five candidates in the final stretch of the new leadership race all stand for repealing the NDP’s Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People legislation.
That’s the same stance the Conservative Party of B.C. held in the 2024 election and they came within one seat of winning.
