— A final showdown: Ottawa is readying itself for a final showdown between police and protesters as municipal, provincial, and national police appear ready to end the so-called ‘Freedom Convoy’ demonstration in the capital. As The Canadian Press reports, the forces have created a perimeter with some 100 checkpoints to prevent protesters from entering the downtown area.

Yesterday, police arrested two key organizers, Tamara Lich and Chris Barber. Both are expected to be charged criminally.

— Debate to continue through the weekend: Members of Parliament are set to continue debating the government’s decision to invoke the Emergencies Act through the weekend, with a Monday evening vote expected to favour the Liberals.
