— Marking five years since the Quebec mosque attack: Survivors and community members will gather tomorrow to mark the fifth anniversary of the Quebec City mosque shooting, call for better gun control, and highlight ongoing discrimination against Muslims. “In Quebec, our premier has not yet recognized either systemic racism or Islamophobia as existing,” said one Quebec City resident. Six men died and five were seriously injured in the 2017 attack.
— Top marks for Freeland: A new Nanos poll has found that Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland scores higher than Prime Minister Justin Trudeau as the preferred leader of the Liberal Party. The poll, which surveyed 1,049 Canadians last weekend, found that Freeland, who is the front-runner to become Trudeau’s successor, was the top choice for 25 per cent of respondents, compared to Trudeau’s 18.4 per cent.
