— Russia seizes nuclear plant: Russian forces have seized Europe’s largest nuclear facility, the Zaporizhzhia plant, which was on fire early this morning due to shelling, according to Ukrainians. The fire has reportedly been extinguished. The site’s personnel have reportedly continued to work to run the plant and radiation levels remain normal. Zaporizhzhia is the nuclear facility that unarmed Ukrainian civilians had tried to protect earlier this week.

Yesterday, Russian President Vladimir Putin gave a televised address in which he vowed to “seize the whole of Ukraine” and warned the “worst is to come.” He is expected to crush dissent at home by imposing martial law.

— Russian spies reportedly tip off Zelenskyy to assassination attempts: Elsewhere, it’s emerged that Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has survived at least three assassination attempts in the past week, including by Wagner Group mercenaries and Chechen special forces. The attempts have been thwarted by anti-war elements within Russia’s Federal Security Service, according to The Times.
