‘Our economy is hurting badly and this project is a real asset to our economy’
[Sydney, NS] — Jim Kehoe says Cape Breton is lucky to be seeing work associated with the Maritime Link project at a time when the local economy is going through a rough patch.
“Our economy is hurting badly and this project is a real asset to our economy,” said the owner of Joneljim Construction, which was awarded the site preparation contract for the project that will carry hydroelectric power from Newfoundland to Cape Breton.
“We’re quite fortunate to have this work right now because the economy in Nova Scotia wasn’t the greatest in the last six months or so, and right now we’re just getting started up again this spring after the roads will open.”
