Statement from Deputy Premier Dave Hancock

Deputy Premier Dave Hancock today released the following statement:

“I am honoured and humbled today to have been asked by caucus to serve as Premier of Alberta. It’s a role that I accept with optimism and great confidence in the ongoing work and vision of this government.

“Hands down, Alberta is the best place in Canada to live, work and raise a family. We have built the strongest economy in Canada, and this has allowed us to provide the programs and services that are so important to Alberta families. We are a magnet for the ambitious, the hard-working, and the talented. That’s why our province will welcome another million new Albertans in the next decade.

“The 2014 Budget is the latest step in our plan to build Alberta, invest in families and communities, open new markets, and live within our means. We will continue moving forward with this plan.

“We were elected to build Alberta and we remain focused on that commitment as we continue to serve all Albertans.”
