Monthly Survey of Manufacturing, April 2025
Manufacturing sales decreased 2.8% in April, the third consecutive monthly decline, driven largely on lower sales of petroleum and coal products, motor vehicles, and primary metals. Excluding the petroleum and coal product subsector, total manufacturing sales were down 1.8%.
Wholesale trade, April 2025
Wholesale sales (excluding petroleum, petroleum products, and other hydrocarbons and excluding oilseed and grain) fell 2.3% to $84.0 billion in April.
New motor vehicle sales, April 2025
In April, 195,659 new motor vehicles were sold in Canada, increasing 11.3% from one year earlier. Gains were widespread, with all provinces observing a higher number of units sold. April 2025 represented the month with the highest sales on record in dollar terms, at nearly $10.8 billion.

Industrial capacity utilization rates, first quarter 2025
Canadian industries operated at 80.1% of their production capacity in the first quarter, up slightly from 79.7% in the fourth quarter of 2024, which was revised down slightly.

Infrastructure economic account, 2024
With today’s release, estimates from 2024 for investment, stock and remaining useful service life, as well as economic and environmental impacts, have been updated to reflect revisions in the capital stock program. All the estimates are consistent with the release of the income and expenditure accounts for the first quarter of 2025 on May 30.
