Monthly Survey of Manufacturing, April 2024
Manufacturing sales increased 1.1% in April, mainly due to higher sales of transportation equipment as well as primary metals. Production of aerospace products and parts declined the most.
Wholesale trade, April 2024
Wholesale sales (excluding petroleum, petroleum products, and other hydrocarbons and excluding oilseed and grain) grew 2.4% to $83.3 billion in April.
New motor vehicle sales, April 2024
New motor vehicle sales data for Canada and the provinces are now available for April. The New Motor Vehicle Sales Survey collects data on monthly sales (in dollars and units) of new motor vehicles in Canada by type of vehicle and by country or region of manufacture.
Pathways indicators for registered apprentices in Canada, 2022
Apprenticeship training programs play a vital role in cultivating the knowledge and expertise of tradespeople, who are integral to Canada’s workforce. The lockdowns and closures brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic greatly impeded the ability of apprentices to fulfill their program requirements, which include in-class study and on-the-job training, thereby delaying their certification.

These estimates are consistent with the first quarter of 2024 release of the income and expenditure accounts on May 31. The full time series, from 1981 to 2023, is now available in the data tables.
