Retail trade, April 2020
Retail sales were down by just over one-quarter (-26.4%) in April to $34.7 billion. Motor vehicle and parts dealers took the largest hit, while online sales surged to a record high, representing 9.5% of the total retail market in April.
Provisional death counts and excess mortality, January to April 2019 and January to April 2020
COVID-19 continues to have unprecedented impacts on Canadians. Statistics Canada has adopted, and continues to adopt, new ways of working to provide Canadians with the data and insights they need to respond to COVID-19. To continue to meet the need for more timely information, an updated provisional dataset on deaths in Canada covering the first 18 weeks of 2020, ending May 2, is now available for 11 reporting provinces and territories. Data are not available for Ontario and Yukon.
Canadian Community Health Survey: Public use microdata file, 2017/2018
The Canadian Community Health Survey: Public Use Microdata File (PUMF) for the 2017/2018 reference period is now available. In 2017 and 2018, data were collected in all provinces and territories from approximately 110,000 respondents aged 12 or older, residing in households.

Household actual final consumption expands on traditional estimates of household consumption expenditure, by including social transfers in kind—that is, the value of goods and services financed by governments and non-profit institutions and consumed by households.
